Forecasting for Success! Seminar November 16, 2019

A job successfully done!

As we watch the latest events in the world and the uncertain weather forecast, it makes us think there is nothing certain about the future. Those of use who have been in the sterile processing field for many many years have seen many changes as we improve how we do our job and the tools available for inspection. A few days ago I even saw on a social media website a robot wrapping a tray!! Yes indeed … a robot. But one fact that cannot be changed in sterile processing, and at least for many years to come, is the need for knowledgeable certified SPD technicians. It doesn’t matter what type of innovation comes to our department, there will always be the need for that human factor to ensure those instruments are cleaned, inspected, prepared and sterilized before a surgical procedure.

Notice how I said “Knowledgeable Certified SPD Technicians” … we cannot forget that the only way we are not going to become obsolete is by learning and staying abreast of all the changes in the industry. Getting to know other technicians, networking and sharing our experience at a larger forum. So how can we “Forecast for Success?” We gather, we learn, we hear what experts in the field have to say and we bring it back to our HUB .. our home SPD.
